The academic thesis offers you a unique opportunity to research and write an academic dissertation relevant to a specific company, function or industry based on a literature review and empirical evidence.  The thesis will be carried out alongside your regular employment in the second year of the MBA programme.

The result will be a comprehensive analysis that reflects extensive study inputs and cutting edge management ideas developed at the University of St.Gallen.

Supervision

MBA students are guided through the duration of the thesis by a Professor at the University of St.Gallen. This is to ensure that students deliver results that are grounded in academic rigour and are both creative and practical at the same time.

Examples
Submission of the academic thesis is required approximately three weeks prior to graduation in order to attend the respective graduation ceremony. Participants reports using any of the following options: 

• Research and write an academic dissertation based on a literature review and empirical evidence.
• Together with their current employer, provide a solution to a business dilemma that will offer the employer added value.
• To develop a detailed business plan for a future entrepreneurial enterprise.
• To address a general business challenge that will prepare the participant for future positions and change.
