The course provides an integrated understanding of the main subject matters of corporate finance. Strong emphasis is placed on firm valuation and corporate transactions, on the capital structure decision and related dividend policy as well as on the challenges and instruments of long-term and short-term financing. The course is structured as follows: A first part deals with firm valuation. The second part builds on this and covers the fundamental financial decisions such as the determination of the capital structure and the selection of appropriate instruments for corporate financing. Based on these principles, the third part focuses on various aspects of corporate portfolio management ,such as, takeovers and restructurings.

This section is intended to integrate and complement the topics and tools of corporate finance. The teaching is based on lectures, exercises, and case studies.
