This module introduces the firm, the essence of management, and the interplay of the firm and its environment. Over the past decades larger firms have rapidly internationalized as their relevant business environments have become more international. Consequently, the focus of this module is to understand the nature of the multinational/global corporation and the subsequent challenges to managers. The module assesses international firm strategies, organizational models, and challenges to exploiting cultural diversity. In addition, the performance implications of international firms' behaviors are assessed. Finally, the module will identify the management skills you need to have to succeed in the future.
