Business Law I
Course Title: Business Law I
- Lecturer: Lara Pair
In the country of origin, the manager is not faced with many of these issues, or she will be reasonably familiar with what is expected. In the international context this is not so. Whether the manager (only) wants to buy or sell goods abroad, invest abroad (directly or indirectly), wishes to expand the company into a different country or participate in a joint venture, at least two legal regimes will be applicable. Special restrictions will apply even in a globalized world with a WTO, NAFTA and an EU.
Learning Goals

- Communicate effectively with in-house and external legal counsel
- Recognize, assess and prevent liability risks for yourself and the company in criminal, civil and regulatory matters
- Understand options, control costs, and increase your chance of success in legal disputes
- Write and understand contracts with international partners
